Our Mickey Bank- You Can Make One Too!

So we've decided we are going to Disney World, Jan 2013! Yes, I know that is a long time away but it gives us time to plan and save. It is also the week of my late father laws b-day, he loved Disney so we are doing it for him as well. Good Memories, No Sad ones!!

We having been talking about it a lot and want to begin to teach the boys to save. SO we started a Disney fund! Then I put these two ideas together:

via pinterest
(couldn't find blog this was from if its YOU please let me know!!)

and this is what I came up with!

And HERE is how I did it!

Start with
a diaper box, scissors, a marker, and a bowl.
cut the box up, you need pieces for the sides and the face and ears
I used the bowl- the largest part for the face and the inside circle for the ears.
My boys made a mess while I cut the box and took pictures!
Cut the rest of the box into strips that are the same width-
then use something like the table (like me) and make the strips bendy, so they will curve.

Break out the hot glue gun!
(I know! I need the hot glue helpers set b/c this cookie isn't cutting it huh?)
Have a cute little boy to help you
then start gluing!
I put the glue directly on to the cardboard on the flat surface then place the bendy strips on the flat surface.
(does that make sense? Ben Henry thinks it does)

Repeat this step for the ears as well!
Because I am make this a bank, I left the opening at the top
All done the face part!
When I was done with all the circle I realized they weren't going to stick onto the larger circle well,
so, I just added some dowels!
TA DA!
Card stock and stickers!

Covered with card stock and ready for stickers!

Get two little boys ready to pick out letters!
There you have it!
OUR MICKEY BANK!!

Hope to "See You Real Soon" around here!
