Just sayin...

I'm just sayin that I went 2 WHOLE DAYS with out turning on my laptop!
I did not use my laptop all day Saturday or all day on Sunday!
That maybe a record people!
I did use my iphone to keep up with Twitter and Pinterest, I mean I can only cut myself off so much, but I did not blog all weekend! That is a lot for me. Now I need to catch up...Here are some ADORABLE projects I have found while going through my blogger feed.
Some of my blogger buddies have had a very busy weekend!

Easy Pom Pom Garland @ Dixie Delights
Love You Mix @ Johnny in a Dress
Chalkboard Tags @ The Craft Monkey

So Cute Monster gift card holder @ Rae Gun Ramblings

I am working on my boys Valentines Day gifts this week. I bought their mailboxes from Target and tonight I hope to get their names put on them after they are down for the night. I am trying to do the 14 days of Valentines, in our house this year. Just giving them a little something special each day. Hoping to get it all together before Feb 1st! Wish me luck!

Friday 5

Its time for the Friday 5!

5 things, 5 people, 5 words, 5 projects, 5 combos of any of these
that are making you happy.
Everyone share them here!

Today I am going to do my favorite 5 pinterest quotes!

1. This pin was on my feed at the perfect time! Today would have been my FIL's 62nd birthday.
This quote will make me remember the good, happy times.

2.   This quote also speaks VOLUMES to me. I work with children with special needs and if one of my boys EVER thought differently of one of my students or another person b/c of a disability I would feel as though I would have failed them.

3. No this is kind of self explanatory, but let me go a little further. I cannot stand all of the television shows that show people from the "South" who: 1. Cannot speak correct English 2. Need subtitles so that others can actually understand what they are saying. 3. Portray "southerners" as uneducated.

4. I am always thinking things that I shouldn't I am glad that this little prayer actually works LOL

5.I love this one. Brian is always on me to clean up more, but I say it can wait...we have to play!

Happy Friday everyone!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tripp the Trooper

I've posted about Sweet Tripp before, especially on Twitter. Tripp lost his fight with EB on Saturday, and his family laid him to rest today. I post about him not to bring sadness to all of you but to bring you awareness of this horrible disease. Please take a minute to visit his mom's blog EBing a Mommy and read Tripp's story. It will make your kiss your babies a little sweeter, make you hug them a little tighter and please make sure they last a little longer.

Now we lay him down to sleep,
I pray dear Lord, that Tripp you'll keep
hold him closely like his Mommy did,
And let him be play like a normal kid.
Give him wings so he can fly high,
... and make sure his halo brightens the sky.
Give him some music and he'll dance for you,
Give him a drum and he'll beat right on cue.
He's our little drummer boy so tiny and small
He's touched the lives of many and is loved by all
Amen
Play on little drummer boy.. You're beat will play on forever....

Our Mickey Bank- You Can Make One Too!

So we've decided we are going to Disney World, Jan 2013! Yes, I know that is a long time away but it gives us time to plan and save. It is also the week of my late father laws b-day, he loved Disney so we are doing it for him as well. Good Memories, No Sad ones!!

We having been talking about it a lot and want to begin to teach the boys to save. SO we started a Disney fund! Then I put these two ideas together:
uncommongoods.com
via pinterest
(couldn't find blog this was from if its YOU please let me know!!)

and this is what I came up with!

And HERE is how I did it!

Start with
a diaper box, scissors, a marker, and a bowl.
cut the box up, you need pieces for the sides and the face and ears
I used the bowl- the largest part for the face and the inside circle for the ears.
My boys made a mess while I cut the box and took pictures!
Cut the rest of the box into strips that are the same width-
then use something like the table (like me) and make the strips bendy, so they will curve.

Break out the hot glue gun!
(I know! I need the hot glue helpers set b/c this cookie isn't cutting it huh?)
Have a cute little boy to help you
then start gluing!
I put the glue directly on to the cardboard on the flat surface then place the bendy strips on the flat surface.
(does that make sense? Ben Henry thinks it does)

Repeat this step for the ears as well!
Because I am make this a bank, I left the opening at the top
All done the face part!
When I was done with all the circle I realized they weren't going to stick onto the larger circle well,
so, I just added some dowels!
TA DA!
Card stock and stickers!

Covered with card stock and ready for stickers!

Get two little boys ready to pick out letters!
There you have it!
OUR MICKEY BANK!!

Hope to "See You Real Soon" around here!
