Mickey Mouse Wreath Tutorial

As some of you know it is Ben Henry's 1st birthday in 2 weeks and I am in full party mode around here. Here is the first thing I have worked on.

Things I needed: 1 large wreath, 2 smaller wreaths, yarn in 4 colors-red,yellow,black, and white, and straight pins. I havent decided yet if I am going to leave it as it and just hang it on the door with ribbon, or if I am going to make a quick little sign with  my silhouette that says "Ben Henry is 1!" I will post a finally pic that day I guess.

So, here goes. What I did first:
Mark off/space out the area of the wreath so that there are equal spaces for the colors of yarn you are using.
( I didnt do this for the big wreath and didnt have 3 spaces for the yellow  )

This is what mine looked like when it was all spaced out and put together.

Start wrapping! I started with the white, because it was my spacing color and I wanted to make sure I liked the look.

Here's what it looked like with just the red done, I dont have pictures of all the pictures in between.

Here's how it looked at the end. Like I said havent decided if I will hang it with ribbon or add a birthday sign.
I really like the way it turned out! I think it is adorable!

  1. Thanks for your great comments on my wreath!
I love your wreath - it looks great!!
The only way I can get mine so tight, is by using a styrofoam wreath. I've tried straw before, and it was too hard to get the yarn lined up.
    Your wreath, really is great!
