Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

Birthday Cake made by my friend Jenny ( I helped a little)

My Mickey Mouse Wreath, that I did a tutorial on a few weeks back.

I was so proud of this banner and my hubs took this picture and cut off the beginning of the banner, but you know what it says ;)

Year in Pictures banner. I love doing this! I still have my older sons. He looks at it all the time.

Entry way. Printable from eighteen25! and Ben's 1 year pic  and some Mickey cutouts from my silhouette.

My favor bags- with Mickey cutouts from my silhouette, and inside were mickey bubbles and crayons.

I made an AWESOME pinata and this is the only picture I have. I am upset. I have to have someone who has a better picture. Its still in my garage I may recreate it just so I have a good pic. LOL

This hurricane glass was sitting on my island and I didnt know what to do with it, so I used what curling ribbon I had left from my pinata making in red and yellow and threw in some Mickey heads. Cute and SO easy. This could be done for so many holidays!

And my polkadot balloons from Polkadot Market and Mickey from Party City.

Enjoy! Ben Henry had a blast! I am exhausted. Now Eli cant wait to start planning his party in July.

Migraine inspired post....

While in bed most of the afternoon and ALL night last night due to the worst migraine I have had in a LONG time I began thinking of thing that could help relieve some of the pain I was having. Now, besides being migraine free, I need something to help with the pain. I usually rely on an ice pack or a cold towel. Well, if I have to be in pain maybe I should look cute or stylish while I am doing it. So that leads me to this post.

Stylish and Cool Migraine managent:

Chick-sicles! Frozen rice filled chickies! to help sooth the pain

A warm and fuzzy eye mask to keep the light out!

There are are few apps you can download on your smartphone to help you relax as well that can talk you through a migraine. I persoanlly cannot stand talking when the pain is that bad. I use sleep pillow, which is a great app that relaxes me enough to help me fall asleep and then I am able to hopefully get rid of the headache. Hope none of my friends struggle with migraines..or anything like this. Most people think its like a headache but anything that can put you in bed for over 8 hours straight is not "just a headache"

How can it be that my BABY is a YEAR OLD?

Easy Peasy Easter Wreath- FREE!

This is a semi tutorial ( i didnt take many pictures, sorry) but its very easy to see how it was done and its OH SO CUTE.

All you need for the simple project is a bag of Easter grass, plastic eggs, hot glue and poster board. SIMPLE, simple, SIMPLE! The best thing about this was that this was FREE b/c I had all of this left over from last Easter, and the posterboard is all over school. YAY!! for free.

1. Depending how big you want your wreath, cut out a roundish shape from the posterboard.
2. Scrunch up your Easter grass into pieces and start glueing.
3. Do this all around the wreath until you like the fullness of your wreath. It will have to be trimmed once you hang it, it will be messy too. I vaccummed my classroom entry way A LOT yesterday, before I got it the way I liked it.

4. Start adding plastic eggs. (dont have a pic of this step sorry, I got excited it was so cute.) I pushed them down onto the posterboard not the grass so that it wouldnt pull the grass off. It worked just fine.

5. Hang your wreath where you like, and trim the grass so that its not falling off everywhere and so its not to messy.

I love love love the way this turned out. I am going to make one for my front door as soon as Ben Henry's birthday party festivies are over and I take down all of his decorations.

Hoppy Easter LOL

Mickey Mouse Wreath Tutorial

As some of you know it is Ben Henry's 1st birthday in 2 weeks and I am in full party mode around here. Here is the first thing I have worked on.

Things I needed: 1 large wreath, 2 smaller wreaths, yarn in 4 colors-red,yellow,black, and white, and straight pins. I havent decided yet if I am going to leave it as it and just hang it on the door with ribbon, or if I am going to make a quick little sign with  my silhouette that says "Ben Henry is 1!" I will post a finally pic that day I guess.

So, here goes. What I did first:
Mark off/space out the area of the wreath so that there are equal spaces for the colors of yarn you are using.
( I didnt do this for the big wreath and didnt have 3 spaces for the yellow  )

This is what mine looked like when it was all spaced out and put together.

Start wrapping! I started with the white, because it was my spacing color and I wanted to make sure I liked the look.

Here's what it looked like with just the red done, I dont have pictures of all the pictures in between.

Here's how it looked at the end. Like I said havent decided if I will hang it with ribbon or add a birthday sign.
I really like the way it turned out! I think it is adorable!

Headache free for days...and its Mardi Gras..

All on a Mardi Gras Day...well, the Sunday before Mardi Gras anyway.
This is what we have been doing for the last 2 days. Friday night we went to the parades, Saturday the parades were actually rained out, and then today we woke up to GREAT weather and we were able to catch 3 parades today. It was lots of fun.
Eli and Brian~ E was so excited, he caught a spear! That is a HUGE deal ;)

Hoping to finish Ben Henry's b-day wreath tonight. (Hoping)

Sorry I'm a slacker....

I have been dealing with migraines everyday for the last week and its really been taking a toll on me. In between work and the boys the blog has take a back seat to everything. I dont know how all the great ones do it. Manage home, work, kids, etc and have such great blogs. They are my inspiration though. So I will just keep on trucking along. I am hoping to get started on Ben Henry's b-day party decor this weekend. We have only 3 weeks until his party. I cannot believe that he will be a year old. That is unbelievable to me. I ordered his invites yesterday and am waiting for a final proof before I post them here.

Thanks to those who have stuck around and hopefully
after this weekend and the blog hop over at  The Girl Creative
