Hurricanes & not the good kind

Happy Monday everyone!
So while everyone is heading back to work and getting back into routines...today I am sending Eli to his first full day of Kindergarten ( all along :TEARS:)
and preparing for a possible hurricane!
Yep you read that right.
The anniversary of Katrina (the worst hurricane on record for NOLA) is Wednesday
and we have a no so good looking storm churning in the Gulf!
 Talk about sucky Monday!!
So in honor or pure pissiness of it all my PINNING today is all due to Hurricanes!
Not the most happiest of topics, but I tried to keep it light!

These probably need a little explanation-
1. I have so much laundry and planning to do...nope I'm here..

2. This shirt was made at a local store called fleurtygirl.net/ after Hurricane Katrina, just a reminder of the strength of the NOLA community.

3.Another shirt made by another local store dirtycoast.com/ after Hurricane Katrina. With all the flooding that went on it was another reminder that with all the water you couldn't take our soul- that would always stay "waterproof."

4.Sesame Street! God ya gotta love them! They are always there when ya need them! Always there to explain the scary stuff for the little guys, when the big people cant find the words.

5. Curvy Girl has a great guide for what you need to be prepared! She also makes the joke that if Jim Cantore shows up in your neck of the woods you are in BIG HUGE trouble! You should have already left and if you haven't its too late, hunker down and GOOD LUCK because no matter where this man goes...the storm is SURE to follow!!

This is a link to a previous post I have written about hurricane preparedness if anyone needs a refresher!

Happy Monday Y'all!!

Stay Safe all my locals and everyone else pray this thing goes away!!

  1. Be safe! I hope Mother Nature is much kinder to NOLA than she's been in the past.

  3. 7 years later I still wear my fave Katrina shirt... "I drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was gone!".
