{Summer Projects} that kids can help with!

After only a few days at home with the boys I KNOW i need to get out the projects for Eli to do to keep him busy so that he doesn't go bonkers in the house this summer. We have memberships to the zoo, aquarium and the insectarium, but we still need things to pass the time at home. Here are just a few ideas I have to keep him busy this summer.

From Juicy Bits
I want to make some of these for Eli's room

Come Follow Me...

So I have 30 followers. That is a huge deal for me, because one of them is my sister and the other is my best friend so that means 28 other strangers like me and follow my blog. THAT'S A BIG DEAL! I want to bring in some more followers. I am starting the {Southern Saturdays} series every other Saturday, about cool things from the south, recipes, clothing, culture etc. hoping that will bring some followers, and also I now have a Warm & Fuzzy Blog page on facebook ( if you haven't liked me there pretty please go do that :)
I am also on twitter as well. I am putting myself out there tyring to get more followers.

I know just because people don't "follow me" doesn't mean they aren't reading my blog but I guess it makes me feel as if I have  more friends. And who doesn't like to feel loved? I know I do.

Now that summer is here I will have more time to craft and open up my banner shop. I hope to be able to have a few giveaways as well. So if you are a follower, please keep following along and just know that the best is still coming.

I am going to Bayou Country Superfest at the one and only Tiger Stadium @ LSU to see both of my boyfriends, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, so come back on Monday to see your eye candy if nothing else.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!!

Pintrest is a bad bad thing..

You see this sassy little thing?
This is what I imagine my daughter would look like.
Full head of curly hair and full of sass.
I saw this picture on pintrest and passed it up, because we are done having children, but everytime I log in I see this prissy little thing and dang it if my tummy doesnt flip and I just want one.AND her name in the pic is LUCY, which was one of the names we were considering for a girl when I was pregnant for Ben Henry! I know she is not a puppy and not something I should want to have but man oh man this picture makes me want a little girl bad bad bad. It gets kinda boring buying polo shirt after polo shirt and you can only have so many pairs of kakhi shorts LOL. I love my boys dont get me wrong and I wouldnt give either of them back for all the money in the world. But sometimes I want a little girl just to dress up..thats all..

Southern Saturdays...

I want to start a little series here called {Southern Saturday} All about the great things I love about being from the South. The foods, the culture, the people, just being here. Each Saturday I'll do something different. So many people have a certain {picture} of what they think {southern} is and hopefully this will give a little insight into what we are really like.

This Saturday we are going to start with what else-

{FOOD}

Pralines

Now I know you cant read my Mom's handwriting, but isnt this the cutest recipe card? Here's what the actual recipe says and believe me when I say the pralines arent the only thing that is southern about this recipe, this is the shortest recipe for something that can easily be screwed up, there should be some explaining and there isnt LOL...it takes practice is all I am saying.

What is actually says will be in black what it should say I will post in purple ;)
1. Toast pecans ( approx 2 cups for about 5 min or until you can smell the pecan throughout your kitchen)

2.Add 2 cups of white sugar, 1/3 cups of light Karo syrup, and 6 oz of condensed milk to a pot with a pinch of salt.

3. Cook for approx 6 min- (stirring the ENTIRE time- this mixture will be VERY HOT!!)

4. (Have a small cup of cold water next to the stove and as the mixture is cooking and starts to melt into candy mixture, it will begin to turn a carmel color as it does drop a tiny amount into the cold water try to form into a small ball, if this easily happens the mixture is ready to be taken from the stove.)
5. Take mixture off stove.
6. Add pecans, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla (this will bubble) KEEP STIRRING!
7. Beat the mixture until dull (IT WILL SEEM LIKE ENTERNITY, ITS NOT, KEEP GOING)
8. Spoon mixture onto wax paper

9. Wait a few minutes till cooled and ENJOY!!

My mom, two sisters and I made these for my cousins wedding as favors and it took all day. Most people in the South make them for the holidays. My favorite is my Grannys...no one can touch them and I mean NO ONE!!

Friday Face...Double Feature...

I joined a SITS group to help my learn more about blogging and met some really great people in the process. One of those people was Breann- her blog
is so cute! She talks about life in the South, life with her baby boy and husband, a their kitties.
I loved her series Friday Face and wanted her to do a guest spot here. So we decided to do a Double Feature, I did Friday Face for her and she did Friday Face for me...2 for the price of 1! She asked me questions and I asked her some questions as well. So here's my 1st Friday Face- Thanks Breann!

1. What made you want to start blogging?
I started blogging for fun about 3 years ago, before blogging was as near a big a deal as it is now. But I would say in the last 4 months I have really thrown myself into it, reading books about becoming a better blogger, workshops, any and all pimping out I can do. I want my blog to grow into something that others really want to read. Half the time I feel like I am just stumbling along. Any and all comments and followers make me so happy! The birth of my son has given me the drive to try and make a little money off this so that I can hopefully spend more time at home with him.
2. Tell me about your family.
My family is just about the most fun family I know. we are huge TV addicts and in the height of TV season there may be 4 shows recording at a time. If we go on vacation it takes forever to catch back up! Now, with Logan, we sit around on weekend mornings and play with him while watching tv and drinking coffee. We try to get out of the house and take him places, even out to eat. We vowed to always just take him with us and lot let having him in our life stop us. It worked! We go out to eat, shopping, farmer's market.. he is just our muskateer!
3. What is the one thing you do as a mom you swore you would never do?
The first is stop breast feeding no matter how hard it was. There is a long story behind it but I only made it 7 weeks. The other is not let him sleep in our room. But you know? He is in a bassinet and we like him in there. It's cozy. We have the dogs in the bed and the bedroom door shut and we are just this little family in there.
4. What is the best thing about living in the South?
Well the winters aren't too cold, the food is awesome, and people are super nice to each other! Downside? Everyone thinks I own some kind of farm animal...
5. What is your favorite Buffet song and why?
OH MAN! Really? I have to choose one? It's sappy but I love Little Miss Magic. My dad used to sing it to me when I was little. Makes me tear up. But if I want a fun song, it's Migration. He even says "Got a Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas in here in my heart." That is so me!

How cute is this little guy?
At a Buffet concert

Thanks Breann again for sharing with me! Head on over to Life and Love of a Parrothead and get your Double Feature!

I'm a Guest Blogger? Who me? - and an Oh so cute DIY craft..

Twitter is a wonderful thing! I have made tons of new friends there. While on twitter the other night I saw a tweet from a blog friend that asked for guest bloggers. I thought...what the hell. I'll throw it out there and just see what happens. Well I was so happy when Chrissy from
said she would love to "host post" (I like saying that is that weird?) one of my family recipes from a new series I am starting this Saturday right here at Warm & Fuzzy. ( So  I wrote up the post, uploaded the pictures and sent it to her.
And ta da.

I feel like one of the cool kids. I was a guest poster.  Head on over and check it out http://www.myhootdesigns.com/2011/05/guest-post-recipe-pralines-w-lauren.html.

Since I posted a recipe I wanted to give you a little DIY craft to go along with the recipe...

Lindy @ itsybitsypaperblog has a super cute tutorial on how to make these recipe card holders for when you are cooking/baking or just want cuteness in your kitchen. Head on over there and check it out!

PS: That new series I spoke about earlier is called {Southern Saturday}, this same post will be here @Warm & Fuzzy on this coming Saturday to kick off the series. What do you want to know about the South? What questions do you want answered? let me help you. Give me some ideas, I'd love to hear from y'all!

Wonderful Weekend Wrap-up

This weekend we went on a long weekend trip with some friends. We had a GREAT time. We spent lots of time on the beach, ate way to much, stayed up way to late, and had soooo much fun! The kids had a blast, playing in the surf, building sand castles, (eating sand) searching for hermit crabs and looking for seashells on the beach. Here are just a few pictures of the kids.
Disclaimer: There are no adult pictures because, lets face it who likes themselves in a bathing suit at this point in time? Not me, I'll tell ya that!

I am addicted to Pintrest just as much as the next person. I find myself spending waaaaaayyyy to much time there. I can get lost for hours there looking at different things...prints, photographs, craft projects, wedding ideas, birthday party ideas, the list goes on and on. They even have ideas for clothing layouts. I have gotten ideas for outfits from there....it is the new time waster for me right up there next to facebook.

(Which reminds me I started a facebook page for Warm & Fuzzy so if you dont mind please, click the link and  geaux  and "like" the blogs FB page.)

This post inspired by my {NEW} sewing machine!!!

My birthday is tomorrow and my inlaws are so wonderful that they gave into this little blogging habit of mine. They were the ones who gave me my Silhouette , and they have now given me this!
Again I must say that I CANNOT I reapeat CANNOT sew. I am the person who hemmed my jeans with duct tape, because they were always to long and I never got them hemmed. I am soooo embarassed to type this. (probably not as embarassed as my grandmother who is actually an EXCELLENT seamstress) She is going to have to teach me A LOT. I can sew a button on  pants, thats about it. Oh and I can cross stich. So there you have it...My secret...I want to sew all the lovely things and have a brand new sewing machine but havent the slightest clue where to even begin.

On that note here are all the cute, adorable, or just plain droolworthy things I would love to be able to make one day...A girl can dream right?

Happy Mother's Day

I woke up to the most wonderful boys in my world. My husband, and two boys. Eli's school had made the cutest gift a handprint craft from each month with a little poem. SO CUTE. Then from both of them, Brian took the boys to Posh Paint Pub and they made me a platter that says " We love you Mommy." It has their Handprints on it and of course purple and yellow polka-dots on it. I cant wait to get a little stand for it and find a place for it in my kitchen.birthday
Since my birthday is Tuesday and Brian works at night, I wont see him for my birthday. I got my birthday presents early as well. YAY ME! I got a brand new Kindle w/ Wi-Fi!! AND his parents gave me a SEWING MACHINE!!

(DISCLAIMER: I HAVENT THE SLIGHTEST CLUE WHERE TO EVEN BEGIN WITH THE SEWING MACHINE- I CAN SEW A BUTTON ON AND THATS IT. ANYONE WANNA COME OVER AND GIVE ME LESSONS? ;) PRETTY PLEASE)

I promise to post pictures ASAP but now I am off to get dressed for the day- lots of visiting to do! I hope you are showered with kisses and hugs from your little ones and pampered from your not so little ones! You deserve it!

Mother's Day Gifts!

My class Mother's Day gift this year! I think they came out so cute!
The kids were able to ModPodge the scrapbook paper on to the blocks with some help from us.
( for confidentiallity reasons I am not posting pics of them doing this, but they had a blast!)

We obviously have one student who lives with her grandparents, so thats why we have Gran blocks too!
( I think those might be my favorite!)

I LOVE THESE!
